In association with The Partnership for Safe and Peaceful Communities and The Chicago Community Trust, Nerdy Media’s Youth Collective turns it’s lens on Hoops for Peace, an event from The Terrell Bosley Anti-Violence Association.
The Terrell Bosley Anti-Violence Association
Pam Bosley and Annette Nance-Holt formed The Terrell Bosley Anti-Violence Association in 2007 after both lost teenage sons to gun violence. Terrell Bosley, 18, was shot and killed while unloading musical instruments in a church parking lot. Blair Holt, 16, was shot and killed while riding a bus home from school. Since then, the two have been working to bring attention to the violence plaguing some Chicago neighborhoods. Throughout the year, they also facilitate events aimed at strengthening community bonds and promoting a peaceful Chicago.
A recent event, Hoops for Peace, took place on August 12th, 2017 at New Bethlehem Church in the Chatham neighborhood.
