Nerdy Media, with it’s innovative approach to volunteer outreach, invited Chicago’s local professional community out to test their tv knowledge and support the organization’s work.
The event was made possible with support from Bar Louie’s Louie Loves Program, which provides non-profit organizations with event space and donation of 20% of all sales. The Printer’s Row location offered guests signature cocktails and a full menu in a private, laid-back atmosphere.
Nerdy Media partnered with Uncharted Taritory’s dynamic duo, Taricka and Toriano Clinton, who provided the afternoon’s entertainment. Between games, founders La Toia Brown and Dave LaTulippe shared insights into the high youth unemployment issue in Chicago, illustrated Nerdy Media’s work, and spoke about opportunities to support the organization’s mission.
Trivia prize packages were curated to align with the event’s theme with winners receiving products and services from select Chicago black-owned businesses. Hyde Park based brands, the Silver Room and Kilwins contributed gift certificates, promoting local black economic empowerment.
The event concluded with a green screen photo booth created and manned by Nerdy Media’s talented young media-makers, giving guests the opportunity to engage with the very people who the organization serves.
