The discussion is scheduled for Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 6:30p.m. The discussion will take place at Lite House Whole Food Grill at 660 E. 55th St. in Hyde Park, Chicago, IL 60615.
What do we really know about Chicago’s youth culture?
Great conversations begin with listening.
Through the sharing of personal stories, Nerdy Media’s youth media-producers will lead discussions about how Chicago’s youth are navigating the emotional, social, and economic landscape of life after high school.
This idea to host came about from Executive Director, La Toia Brown and her team, who collectively designed a six-week media production program that guides young creatives through the ins and outs of producing a podcast.
This intimate conversation between youth, community leaders, and residents will be recorded as the season finale of the podcast illustrating the value of elevated civic conversations to discover genuine pathways toward meaningful action.
On the Table
On the Table, an annual forum that invites Chicagoans from diverse backgrounds, neighborhoods, and perspectives to gather over mealtime conversations to build personal connections and explore how we can work together to make our communities stronger. This city-wide community engagement initiative is supported by the ChicagoCommunity Trust.
Nerdy Media is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that designs job-readiness programs to empower Chicago’s disconnected youth with the know-how to not only take advantage of opportunity, but create it for themselves.
